Set a time (10 minutes maximum) During that time write words or phrases that you think related to the chosen theme. Ideally, during the time you write, do not fix anything, but to create ideas. Elapsed time, read the list and rearrange what is written, so they make sense and are related to the selected topic. If you’ve made it, start working. In this technique (or any other chosen), the environment should be adequate. A noisy or busy place not help concentrate. Brainstorming as a technique of group As a group technique is essential spontaneous participation. This technique will generate many ideas and solutions to a given problem. Besides the ability of all and not a few exploits. Generates a sense of shared responsibility. To my mind the rain as group technique to be effective, we must highlight some priorities: Emphasize the quantity rather than the quality of the ideas to be expressed. Avoid criticism of the ideas presented. Introduce the ideas in â€Å"raw† without elaborate them in advance. Accept all ideas and accept any more â€Å"crazy† they seem. Further analysis, classify, select, quantify and exploit the ideas to achieve the desired solution. It is also convenient to generate a relaxed, free of â€Å"qualifications† as disclosed ideas. This is necessary, not to inhibit the creativity of the participants. Another way to perform this group technique is anonymous. The problem or issue arises and a â€Å"mailbox† where ideas are placed, this will reflect on the idea and anonymity, which will give greater freedom of expression is placed. Esto es asà ­ porque es un territorio que forma parte de la Commonwealth de ese paà ­s, aunque no es uno de los 50 estados que conforman la unià ³n americana.   Este artà ­culo informa sobre el importante asunto de la ciudadanà ­a americana y los puertorriqueà ±os, las consecuencias migratorias derivadas del estatus especial de Puerto Rico, las reglas para viajar a la isla y, finalmente, se hace referencia a otros territorios con estatus similar al de Puerto Rico.  ¿Sabà ­a usted? Puerto Rico es un Territorio Libre Asociado de Estados Unidos, conocido como commonwealth. Las leyes migratorias de la isla son exactamente las mismas que las de Estados Unidos, tanto para migrantes como para visitantes. Ciudadanà ­a estadounidense y Puerto Rico Desde su nacimiento, los puertorriqueà ±os tienen pasaporte de los Estados Unidos. Es asà ­ en virtud de la Ley Jones-Shafroth, del 2 de marzo de 1917, que reconoce a los puertorriqueà ±os la ciudadanà ­a americana al mismo tiempo que reconoce que tambià ©n poseen la ciudadanà ­a puertorriqueà ±a. La excepcià ³n es para aquellas personas -muy pocas- que deciden renunciar a la primera y quedarse sà ³lo con la segunda. La ley permitià ³ que quien asà ­ lo desease podà ­a renunciar a la ciudadanà ­a americana y conservar sà ³lo la puertorriqueà ±a ya que, como se ha reconocido en varias ocasiones, ambas nacionalidades son diferentes y separadas.  En 1917 menos de 300 personas decidieron conservar sà ³lo la ciudadanà ­a de la isla. Pero debido al estatus especial de Puerto Rico, los puertorriqueà ±os no votan en las elecciones presidenciales de Estados Unidos ni tienen representacià ³n de senador ni representante con voto en el Congreso de los Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, todos los puertorriqueà ±os que residen habitualmente en uno de los 50 estados de la unià ³n, sà ­ pueden hacerlo. Consecuencias migratorias del estatus especial de Puerto Rico Las leyes migratorias de Puerto Rico son, en realidad, las leyes migratorias de Estados Unidos, no hay otras. Esto tiene las siguientes consecuencias: En primer lugar, para emigrar a Puerto Rico hay que seguir uno de los 29 caminos abiertos para emigrar (green card) a Estados Unidos. Exactamente los mismos. En segundo lugar, como los puertorriqueà ±os son ciudadanos, los  puertorriqueà ±os pueden pedir a sus esposos extranjeros o a sus novios, tanto si residen en la isla como si viven en uno de los 50 estados de la unià ³n americana o, incluso, en otros territorios, como Samoa, las Islas Và ­rgenes Americanas o Guam. En tercer lugar, para viajar como turista o con cualquier tipo de visa no inmigrante a Puerto Rico aplican exactamente las mismas leyes que para Estados Unidos. Absolutamente no hay ninguna diferencia y no es ms fcil que aprueben las visas si el destino es Puerto Rico. Es exactamente igual pedirla cuando el destino es San Juan o cuando es Miami o Nueva York. Viajar a Puerto Rico Las reglas para viajar a Puerto Rico dependen del lugar y, en algunos casos, de la situacià ³n migratoria de la persona que desea ir a la isla. Asà ­, en el caso de ser turistas extranjeros que se encuentran fuera de EE.UU., si pertenecen a un paà ­s del Programa de Exencià ³n de Visas pueden viajar sin visado por un plazo mximo de 90 dà ­as, pero es necesaria la ESTA si se llega por avià ³n. En los dems casos es necesario solicitar una visa de turista regular y acudir a la entrevista a la embajada o consulado americano que corresponda. Por otro lado, los ciudadanos americanos y los residentes permanentes legales que se encuentran en uno de los estados de EE.UU., pueden viajar a Puerto Rico con un documento que les permita embarcar, pudiendo utilizar sus licencias de manejar, si asà ­ lo desean. En cuanto a los extranjeros con visa vigente que se encuentran en Estados Unidos y desean viajar a la isla, debern llevar sus pasaportes. Para evitar problemas, los estudiantes internacionales con visas F o M y aquellas personas con visa de intercambio (J-1) deben llevar los documentos adicionales que muestran que la visa est vigente, tipo I-20. Por à ºltimo, los indocumentados deberà ­an intentar evitar volar a Puerto Rico, incluso aquellos que tienen un documento vlido para volar domà ©sticamente en Estados Unidos. La razà ³n es que se sobrevuelan aguas internacionales y se han reportado casos de problemas en vuelos de esas caracterà ­sticas, como los que comunican Alaska y Hawaii con los 48 estados contiguos. Otros territorios de EE.UU. en los que aplican sus leyes migratorias Estados Unidos es un paà ­s federal compuesto por 50 estados. Los dos à ºltimos en unirse fueron Hawaii y Alaska. Los nacidos en esos territorios son, al mismo tiempo, ciudadanos y nacionales. Puerto Rico no es el à ºnico territorio de Estados Unidos. Guam, las Marianas del Norte o las Islas Và ­rgenes Americanas son otros ejemplos, los allà ­ nacidos son ciudadanos americanos. Tambià ©n los nacidos en cualquiera de esas islas son ciudadanos y nacionales de EE.UU. Sin embargo, las personas nacidas en los territorios americanos de Samoa son solo nacionales. Aunque tienen pasaporte de EE.UU. y pueden vivir y trabajar en los 50 estados sin ningà ºn tipo de là ­mite, quienes viven en dichos estados no pueden ni votar ni ser elegidos en elecciones. En Guam, Islas Và ­rgenes Americanas, las Marianas del Norte y Samoa aplican las leyes migratorias de Estados Unidos, como sucede en Puerto Rico. According to Sprenger and Institoris’ analysis about witchcraft to have an effect, there must be the witch, the devil and God’s permission to concur in all the mentioned things. So the definition of many late medieval icons about the devil is not easy as one cannot tell the extent to which the devil is present in people’s minds (James 70). According to Peter Burke, the definition of â€Å"people† in western culture existed from the opposed categories: the nobility for the commoners, the literate for the illiterate, the rich for the poor, and the clergy for the laity. Telescreen is also constantly broadcasting media that they want the citizens to hear, all of which basically leads to the indoctrination of its citizens. Citizens of Oceania lives are just about completely controlled; there are alarms that wake up the office workers when its getting up time. Then theres the Physical Jerks were the citizens have to exercise and even have a look of grim enjoyment on this face which was expected. Their entire way of living is controlled, and they constantly have the idea that Big Brother is watching you instilled in their mind. Winston works for the Ministry of Truth party in the Department of Records. His job is to alter historical records. The party would simply go into the past and say that this or that event had never happened. There slogan was Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past. Winston had to make certain that all historical events correspond with the Partys beliefs at that time to ensure that whatever Big Brother claims was exact. It is all part of their way of controlling society. I believe that what Winston does for a living for the Ministry of Truth is appalling. There are situations when people do thing that are wrong but they really dont know any better. They are ignorant of the truth. Winston, however, is completely aware that what he does is not just. He even states how he unconsciously started writing during the Two Minutes Hate meeting, Down with Big Brother. He is completely aware of what he is doing and knows that its not right. I suppose, however, that he is sort of caught between a rock and a hard place. Newspeak affects communication of this society by restraining the societies vocabulary. This is simply another means of controlling the citizens of Oceania, and preventing them form committing a thoughtcrime. Citizens have to be extremely careful of the things that they say and this is simply a way of achieving that control. I dont believe that Newspeak could make thoughtcrime impossible though, although, they might be able to control what society is able to say and do I highly doubt that they would be able to actually completely control persons thoughts. Definition and History of Alternative Schools The first thing one should know is what alternative schools are and how they came about. The World Book Encyclopedia (2003) defines an alternative school as, â€Å"†¦ any public or private school that differs from traditional schools in curriculum, purpose, or teaching methods.† This definition can be traced back to the 1960’s, when free schools were created. These types of schools usually consisted of a small number of students and staff. During this time period, there were many popular beliefs about children and education. First of all, people believed that children would learn things at their own pace. Secondly, teachers and faculty were supposed to be mentors, rather than figures of authority. In comparison to public schools, which were seen as oppressive, free schools were a suitable alternative for many students (Miller 2002). One of the main reasons why this was the case, is because the free schools took student’s needs into consideration (Boss 1998). The needs for a flexible curriculum and self-paced learning were met by the free schools. All of these ideas have remained a part of society, as seen by the development of current alternative school settings. Funding In order for alternative schools to continue to operate, adequate funding is necessary. Thus, schools should work to gain a place in the budget of the local school district. According to the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (2001), there are many ways in which alternative schools can be funded. Funds can come from local school districts, grants from state or federal governments, and or donations from local businesses. It is possible for some alternative schools to run based on a combination of sources. Purpose of Alternative Schools Students who attend alternative schools do not necessarily lack the ability to learn. The main issue that students struggle with is that they each have different needs when it comes to learning. According to the Waterville Alternative School (2003), located in Waterville Maine, public schools are created on a â€Å"one size fits all† basis. That is, there is one set curriculum, one set schedule, and one set teaching style. Each student is expected to learn at the same pace, however, this is not the reality. Thus, alternative schools have been created as a way to meet each student’s individual needs.

Introduction Job analysis is the process of describing and recording aspects of jobs and specifying the skills and other requirements necessary to perform the job. The main purposes of conducting job analysis are to prepare job description and job specification which in turn helps to hire the right quality of work force into the organization at right place and with the right skills. Job description and job specification further gives conclusions for job evaluation. In the fields of Human Resource (HR), job analysis is often used to gather information for use in personnel selection, training, classification, and compensation and salary.There are several ways to conduct a job analysis, including: interviews with incumbents and supervisors, group interviews, questionnaires (structured, open- ended, or both), observation, diary method and gathering background information such as duty statements or classification specifications. The engagement of spiritual dimension within the healthcare system has shaped the way through which patients recover and show more positive results within the health organizations. Over the past years, the goal of religion in medicine and spirituality encompass diverse medical practices like pastoral counseling, use of prayer and meditation in healing, evoking compassion and forgiveness and also health professional who work with them. Therefore, it is seen that Religious Health Care gives much emphasis on importance of bringing spirituality into the healing process. This paper identifies and discusses matters from the reaction that must be put into further consideration by the consultant team and the discussion made by governing board and the CEO. 2.0 Description of important element of the governing board’s agenda for areas of improvement in core functions Nurses, as the core professionals in Religious Health Care should have the following job skills and carry out the following duties as it was discussed by the board’s governing agenda (Optimizing Performance and Quality, 2012). The assumptions made was that: i. The resident/patient population complex in nature, frail and experiences many dysfunctions and illness. ii. It is imperative when it comes to identification of essential mix of management/administrative skills, decision making skills, ethical principles and fiscal management knowledge that nurses must have in order to manage and administer long-term care facility. The following five agenda’s was discussed about the tasks and the responsibilities of Nursing Home Administrators who will be ensuring that nurses work effectively at Religious Healthcare (Quality of care, 2006): (a) Quality of Life and Resident Care Ensure that all the nursing services are thoroughly evaluated, planned and  implemented so that it could maximize both quality of care and resident quality of life. Ensure that programs related to social services are thoroughly evaluated, planned and subsequently implemented so as to meet social and psychological preferences and the needs of residents with the aim of maximizing quality of care and quality of life. Macke sure that programs related to food services is thoroughly evaluated, planned and implemented to meet nutritional needs of the patients within health organization for the sake of maximizing both quality of care and quality of life. Ensure that programs related to therapeutic activities are thoroughly evaluated, planed and implemented so as to meet the interests of the patients so as to maximize the quality of care amid the quality of life. The nurse in leadership will be responsible for ensuring that information management programs is evaluated, planned and implemented so as to arrive at documentation requirements. Make sure that Residential Rights are integrated with every aspect of resident care. Always ensure that the facilities within the health organization comply with local, state, as well as federal regulations and stipulated standards. Monitor, identify and ensure that the quality indicators are utilized with the aim of maximizing effectiveness in services delivery to patients. Ensure review, development and implementation of the resident procedures and policies. Make sure that the health facilities within the organization are in par with local state and federal regulations and standards (Long Term Care, 2010). (b) Human Resources Nursing Home Administrators within Religious healthcare shall facilitate the process of communication between the staff and management through counseling and coaching. Shall be ensuring that all the programs pertaining human resources are evaluated, planned and implemented to meet cultural diversity of the patients. Responsible in monitoring of programs, development and implementation of programs with the sole aim of benefitting the staff. Carry out investigations to make sure that human resource management programs and policies are planned and implemented in accordance with the federal laws regulations and entities. Developing and implementing of employee safety and health programs so as to provide good working environment Developing, monitoring and implementing, recruitment, evaluation, development, provision of resident services to the nurses within the health organization so as to  ensure job satisfaction. (c) Finance Utilizes f fiscal resources through effective management and development of annual operation and development of capital budgets. Extensive implementation and development of financial system, procedures and policies to monitor and evaluate financial performance for instance resident trust and account payable. Implement, interpret and with financial aspects of any contractual agreement such as consultative services, vendor, managed care and organized labor. Management of reporting systems and financial audit such as information systems, charitability and cooperate compliance. Ensure that all the facilities records are highly protected for instance risk management and insurance coverage. Facilitate the education and training of staff in areas related to the financial management. (d) Atmosphere and Physical Environment Shall be ensuring hat systems for improving and maintaining buildings, equipment and grounds are evaluated, planed and implemented accordingly. Provision of attractive and clean facilities and conducive environment for patients and the staff. Monitoring the environment to ensure that safety programs are implemented for safety, welfare and health for visitors’ staff and patients who attend health organization. (e) Management and Leadership Ensuring that all the policies and procedures are developed in compliance with the governing entities and directives. Ensuring that all the policies and procedures are in compliance with the local, state, as well as federal rules and regulations. Evaluate, monitor and observe the impacts of the entire facility’s programs, procedures and policies so as to fulfill administrative responsibility such as license and professional  responsibility. Carry out education of nursing home board in respect to their responsibilities and roles and pay attention to their daily actions to ensure that they adhere to the regulations and by-laws. Manage the resources and ensure that they are adequate so as to promote quality of life and comprehensive marketing. 3.0 Performance dimension that Religious Health Care could use to improve overall institutional performance The major goal of improving individual or institutional performance in the healthcare organization is to provide sustainable and quality services for the clients. Health system in this regard is a large umbrella, which covers people, organizations and the measures, which is strived for maintaining, restoring, or promoting health. Therefore, improving of the performance of such general elements of the health system will ultimately contribute to positive health outcomes. Performance dimension is the process within the health organization through which the performance of system, organizations and workers are set up with the aim of improving quality and performance or success and strength of the healthcare system. It is the continuous and systematic process through which the outside stakeholders judge the performance of a given health institution. The stakeholders (external environment, health workers, organization, community and clients) identify strengths and gaps so as to identify root causes using tools for exploration of factors, which in essence determine performance. There are various strategies through which the Religious Healthcare could do to improve the overall institutional performance (Everybody’s business, 2007): Consider context- clients, health workers, organization, and community and external environment The management team of Religious Healthcare must understand that the community and external environment plays a vital role towards the success of the organization. This includes the perspective of health workers or employees, the community, the clients and the organizational structure  served by the organization. As the managers get familiar with such external and community factor, the desired performance will be contributed. Research shows that there are many variables, which determine the ability of health organization individual employees and teams to perform within an organization. While some of the factors are beyond control, the positive steps by the healthcare groups or organizations however can improve most of them. Some of the factors include the following: Social norms such as the ethnicity, religion, class culture and gender Accreditation or Licensing processes or requirement. Local and national infrastructure such as sanitation, water, telecom, energy and transportation. Unpredicted change in political in local and national government. National standards, regulation, policies and the scope of work. Identification of strengths and gaps This involves the process through which the Religious Healthcare can possibly improve the performance by defining the desired performance, assessment of quality and performance and comparison of the various levels with the intention of establishing the strengths and weaknesses. Successful organization usually uses international or national standards and guidelines for setting up the desired standards. Such cooperative work for definition of performance is necessary especially when it comes to building consensus amongst stakeholders and the achievement of the desired goals. It also acts as an initial stage of the evaluation plan that determines lies out to be rated before and after interventions (Everybody’s business, 2007). Cross-sectional survey methods can be used to analyze and describe the performance of the nurses in the Religious Healthcare. Two groups (of stakeholders) will be necessary during the evaluation: community stakeholders (paramedics and homecare) and hospital stakeholders (managers, nurses and physicians). Estimates of the design effect and sample size will be used in determining the realistic number of the prospective sampling units. Descriptive statistics will then be used to analyze characteristics and to make the comparisons of the outcomes in each section. 5.0 Strategies Religious Health Care could implement to enhance its public image and increase market share To increase its performance and win the market share, there are number of steps, which the Religious Healthcare could use. Foremost is the strategic planning. Strategic planning provides the basis of good foundation to the entire health program. Effective planning will ultimately help the Religious Health organization to improve performance. Set priorities which will be the foundation of the progress of the organization Derive communication programs which is crucial for the smooth running of the organization Establish the role, which the communication plays in the health communication. 6.0 Critical management  issues, purpose, functions, and performance measures of different departments within healthcare organizations The recent changes in the nature of the healthcare organizations like meeting strict guidelines, improving the quality of care and pressures to reduce cost has forced many health organizations to reconsider how they evaluate their performance. The most effective systems in the organization align organizational resources and units as well as integrate the initiatives. They may also seem obsessed with the other male characters in the show, and they are interested in money, cars, house, shopping and make-up which are usually portrayed as what a women interests. Every female character on Desperate Housewives struggles with the attempt of obtaining that perfect, idealistic picture of a family.The men in the sitcom are all tall, dark and handsome, and they all own big upmarket homes, with expensive cars, which evidently show that they have a lot of money. Some of them are ruggedly handsome, and some of them have a nice clean shaven look but the women in the show find attraction in them. The women in the show are mostly portrayed as either floozy, or wanting to everyth ing to be absolutely perfect, whether it be in their everyday lives or it being within their own families. These are the stereotypical views of the women and men in suburban areas of America.In Peep Show however, the portrayal on the women and the men in this sitcom are very different compared to the characters in desperate housewives. One main example of the difference between the sitcom is that they are not based in American or in the suburban area of Britain as that is where they are based. The main male characters in this sitcom share a flat in Croydon South London. So this sitcom is a representative of the attitudes and values of two men sharing a flat in London. This was portrayed as to be very unhygienic and messy. One of the main male characters clearly show this by being a drunk and obviously a hedonist who evidently lives only for the pleasures of life e.g. sex, drugs, and drink. He character is named Jeremy. The other however challenges the idea of a stereotypical male sh aring a flat, as he is more feminine, clean and definitely more organised than Jeremy. He is also much more nervous compared to the other more laid back character, this character is named Mark. The women in peep show are pretty and slim, but they are not as exaggerated as the women in desperate housewives. The women characters in Peep Show merely show a clear contrast between men and women in Britain as they are evidently much more clean and hygienic as opposed to the drunken unshaven men in peeps how excluding Mark and this shows how Mark has a more feminine side compared to the other male characters in the sitcom. Also in Peep Show, mark is afraid of a long term commitment of marriage which is correctly portrayed of most males. This therefore shows that Mark also has a masculine side to him.In Peep Show, the gender and masculinity is mainly shown through the way they act and what they say. In Peep Show, Jeremy enjoys sex and always getting drunk and also very unhygienic habits, wh ereas Mark does not correspond to this idea of stereotypical males, as his is much more hygienic, he also carries himself appropriately although his fears of marriage shows the emblematic male in him.The women in both sitcoms portray themselves as clean and know how to look after themselves, however in the American sitcom Desperate Housewives, they seem to be more obsessed with money, and also in both sitcoms the seems interested in sex which portrays them as sexual objects.In both sitcoms the do a good job of portraying different characteristics to do with the gender of people.
